Award Plaque for Torch Run

FUNDRAISING EFFORTS RECOGNIZED — Lieutenant Kurt Kendro of the Honolulu Police Department, right, presents Hawaii County Deputy Police Chief James Correa with a plaque displaying the design on T-shirts made especially for this year’s Troy Barboza Law Enforcement Run. Kendro, state director of the annual statewide police events, presented the plaque Monday (July 10, 2000) in recognition of the Hawaii County Police Department’s efforts, which raised more than $8,000 this year to benefit the Special Olympics. The Big Island torch runs were held March 25 in Kona and April 15 in Hilo.
