Big Island police are investigating a robbery that took place in Puna in April.

A 32-year-old Pāhoa woman reported that an unidentified man took her purse while she was at the Ainaloa Community Center at 11 p.m. on April 2. He then fled in an unidentified car.

The man is described as being in his 20s, 5-foot-7, 150 pounds with a large mole above his left lip. He was wearing a dark blue knit cap that had a Nike symbol.

Police ask that anyone with information on his identity call Detective Norbert Serrao at 961-2383 or the Police Department’s non-emergency line at 935-3311.

Tipsters who prefer to remain anonymous may call Crime Stoppers at 961-8300 in Hilo or 329-8181 in Kona and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
