Video store robbery 09-19-06

Big Island police are asking for the public’s help in identifying two people who robbed a video rental story Monday evening (September 19, 2006).

The males entered the store on Kukila Street around 10:05 p.m. wearing hooded jackets and cloth covering their faces.

One said he had a gun and asked the clerk for cash and adult DVDs. After receiving an undisclosed amount of cash and about 200 DVDs valued at $10,000, the robber asked the clerk for the location of the safe. When told that the store had no safe, the two men fled on foot.

No one was injured in the robbery. The clerk did not see a weapon.

Police ask anyone with any information about the case to call Officer Cory Hasegawa of South Hilo Patrol at 961-2213 or the Police Department’s non-emergency number at 935-3311.
