Kona vice officers confiscated 697 marijuana plants ranging in height from seedlings to 5 feet during a two-day operation that ended Tuesday (July 31, 2001).

The vice officers were joined in the operation by personnel from the State Department of Land and Natural Resources and Air National Guard.

The marijuana eradication sweep — which covered areas from Kalaoa in North Kona to Discovery Harbor in Ka’u — was part of the department’s continuing “Counter-Cannabis Field Operation.”

No major incidents were reported, and no arrests were made.
