Media Release (update No. 5)

Big Island police have charged a two women in connection with the shooting of a woman who was found alive in a remote forest area in Ka’u on Friday, July 27.

Jody Lassen, 34, of Hilo and Danolin Souza, 36, of Orchidland were charged at 9:45 a.m. Thursday with attempted murder, kidnapping, unauthorized entry of a motor vehicle and assault. Their bail was set at $100,000 each.

Both women are being held at the Hilo police cellblock until their initial court appearance in District Court.

Rodney Bohol Sr., also known as Stacey Kealoha Kawaehai, was charged Tuesday with attempted second-degree murder, kidnapping, unauthorized entry of a motor vehicle, promoting a detrimental drug, use of a firearm in the commission of separate felony, place to keep, and three counts of ownership prohibited.
