MEDIA RELEASE

Big Island police are looking for a 17-year-old boy reported missing from a detention facility on Oahu since November 4, 2004, and is believed to be on the Big Island.

He is Julian Benevides. Benevides is described as being a Caucasian, being 5-foot-9 in height, weighing about 160 pounds with a medium build and having a tan complexion, black hair and brown eyes.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call Officer Peter Kualii of the East Hawaii Juvenile Aid Section at 961-2373 or the police non-emergency telephone number at 935-3311.

Those who wish to remain anonymous may call Crime Stoppers at 961-8300 in Hilo or 329-8181 in Kona. All Crime Stoppers information is kept strictly confidential.
