MEDIA RELEASE

Officers from the Hawaii Police Department will be pumping gasoline and washing windshields on Friday, April 28, 2006, while accepting donations for the Special Olympics.

The “Fueling Dreams” fund raiser takes place at the Tesoro filling station at the corner of Kamehameha Avenue and Ponahawai Street from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. The gas station is one of 12 Tesoro locations statewide hosting the event.

Through April 30, the filling stations’ employees will be asking customers across the state to buy a $1 “Fueling Dreams” window cling to promote this event and Special Olympics Hawaii. All proceeds from the campaign will go to the Special Olympics Hawaii state office.

This is a good opportunity to meet your local police officers while contributing to a worthwhile cause. The Special Olympics, modeled after the Olympic Games, provide a program of competitive sports for physically or mentally challenged athletes.
