Puna sweep nets 16 persons arrested on 30 warrants 08-20-03

Police arrested 16 persons wanted for a total of 30 outstanding bench warrants Monday and Tuesday (August 18 and 19, 2003).

The warrant sweep of the Puna District was a joint operation conducted by officers from the Puna and South Hilo Patrols, from the Hilo and Puna Community Policing Program and from the East Hawaii Criminal Investigation Section.

Police are still looking for three men wanted on outstanding bench warrants or grand jury indictments. They are:

  • James Cordova, 37, of Pahoa, two warrants for contempt, three warrants for revocation of probation and grand jury indictments on three counts of promotion of a dangerous drug, one count of promotion of a detrimental drug, one count of having a prohibited firearm and two counts of possessing illegal drug paraphernalia.
  • Jomal Ford, 25, of Mountain View, one count of first-degree negligent homicide, two counts of first-degree negligent injury and two warrants for revocation of probation.
  • Robert P. Enos, also known as “Bobbie Enos,” 26, of Hawaiian Beaches, one warrant for failure to appear in court, one for contempt and one for revocation of probation.

The following persons were arrested Monday:

  • Carl Packer, 39, of Ainaloa, one warrant for failure to appear.
  • Dove Johnson, 33, of Eden Roc, three warrants for contempt.
  • David Jardine, 39, of Ainaloa, one warrant for contempt.
  • Klayton Steinmetz, 19, of Hawaiian Beaches, two warrants for contempt.
  • Leslie Salboro, 26, of Fern Acres, four warrants for failure to appear and two for contempt.
  • Arelene Villanueva, 34, of Pahoa, one warrant for contempt.
  • Earl Serrao, 36, of Nanawale, one warrant for contempt.
  • Hans Poouahi, 34, of Nanawale, two warrants for contempt.
  • Richard Paglinawan Jr., 35, of Hilo, one warrant for revocation of probation.

Arrested Tuesday were:

  • Robin Nakapaahu, 22, of Hawaiian Paradise Park, three warrants for contempt and one warrant for failure to appear.
  • Demetrio Gonsalves Jr., 37, of Hawaiian Beaches, one warrant for contempt and one for parole violation.
  • Reynaldo Arcellana, 42, Keaau, one warrant for contempt.
  • Theo Bianchini, 37, of Keaau, one warrant for contempt.
  • Richard Paho, 41, of Orchidland, two warrants for contempt.
  • Chad Moniz, 23, of Mountain View, one warrant for failure to appear.
  • Omar Berdon 32, of Hawaiian Paradise Park, one warrant for contempt.

More warrant sweeps will be conducted in the future, a police spokesman said.
