MEDIA RELEASE

An man was discovered dead by the roadside off Paniolo Avenue in Waikoloa Village on Sunday (December 31, 2006).

Responding to a 7:45 a.m. call, South Kohala patrol officers found the man lying off the roadway. Hawaii Fire Department personnel were already on the scene. They informed officers that the victim had no signs of life.

He was identified as Ramie Apsey, 28, from Michigan who was living in Waikoloa Village.

An autopsy has been ordered to determine the cause of death. Police have classified the case as a coroner’s inquest.
